The IRS has a thing for celebrities. In this article, we keep tabs on the actors and rappers in hot water with the IRS in January 2011. It’s an eclectic group!

Keeping up with the latest celebrity shenanigans is something we all do. Oh, come on. Admit it. You snicker when Lindsey Lohan goes into rehab again and so on. Heck, we have to be the only country in the world where people such as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian can be famous for…well, being famous. 

The IRS also enjoys a bit of celebrity site seeing. Why not, they have lots of money and usually spend it unwisely. With this in mind, here are the latest celebrities in trouble with the agency.

Marc Anthony – He’s married to J-Lo. He’s supposedly a great singer on his own, but I have to admit I’ve never heard anything by him. I am obviously wrong on this because the IRS is claiming he owes it $3.4 million in back taxes. Perhaps J-Lo can loan it to him. 

Val Kilmer – He was once a suave leading man in the movies. Now? Not so much. He does, however, owe the IRS a bit of money. The sum is supposedly just under $500,000. He’s trying to sell his New Mexico ranch to pay it. He listed the ranch for sale in 2009 at $33 million. It currently lists for $18.5 million. The brutal real estate market claims another humble, poor celebrity!

Trick Daddy – This rapper is known for his songs “I’m a thug” and “Let’s Go”. Apparently, he also has one called “Taxes? What are those?” The IRS has been tracking him down on different liens totaling $140,000 at last count. Here’s hoping he has another hit in him.

It’s enough to make us humble peasants weep. If we can’t look up to our celebrity actors and rappers, what do we have left? What do we have left…
