$454,000 for Light System for Texas Softball Field
Let them see the light of government pork spending! In this case, the American taxpayer is literally seeing it thanks to $454,000 spent by the government on a Texas softball field lighting system.
Government pork is so out of control it isn’t funny. We like to say other countries in the world are incredibly corrupt, but are we really any different? Oh, we call our something else to make it feel better. The world is “lobbying”. We even have rules on how to do it. Yes, rules on corruption. Ah, what a country!

The latest sign of incredibly government waste comes to us from Euless, Texas. I know nothing about the place and I bet you don’t either. Despite this, you, I and every other tax payer has contributed to the purchase and installation of a top class lighting system for…a softball field. Try to the tune of $454,000. For a softball field. Softball.
The government is supposed to be providing us with basic, needed services. I am talking about things like garbage pickup, police security, protection from dangerous foods, military, education and so on. Lighting systems for softball fields? I don’t think so.

Now, before the softball players all start writing me, let me say I don’t have anything against the sport. I would feel the same way if it was football, baseball, soccer or whatever. I even believe playing at night and having lights is a smart move. I just don’t see why national taxpayers should be footing the bill. If a local community wants lights on their fields, then they should pay an extra tax to cover it.
If you are ever in Euless, Texas, make sure to head over to the softball fields. Get out, take a stroll and look up at those lights.
You paid for them!
